Position on the Authority of ScriptureWe believe absolutely in the spiritual truths of the Word of God. We
accept both the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God, breathed and inspired by Him
through His servants. As Christians, we accept the Bible as our authoritative source for
our belief structure and the source of our doctrines. Wherever our doctrines might deviate
from scripture, accurately translated, they must be brought back into alignment with the
Word of God.
The Godhead
We believe in the Holy Trinity of God. We believe in God the Father,
God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; one Person of the same substance, power and
eternity.
God the Son
The Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Word (logos) of God, pre-existent
always with the Father and the Holy Spirit, the Very and Eternal God, and of one substance
with the Father, took Man's nature in the womb of the blessed virgin Mary, truly suffered,
was crucified, dead and buried, and resurrected to reconcile his Father to us and us to
His Father. He came to be a sacrifice for the actual salvation of Mankind. It is through
Jesus Christ alone that we come to eternal life.
The Creeds
We accept and believe the creeds to be true which are known as The
Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed. They are both in accord with Holy Scripture and
should be used by the church as summaries of our faith.
Justification of Man
We are literally spiritually born again into Christ at our conversion
to faith in Christ. We become justified to God through our acceptance of the sacrifice of
Christ on the cross and our desire to receive His Life. Through this process, we begin as
children of God and should continually grow into maturity in Him.
The Church
We believe that the visible church of God should be a congregation of
spiritual men, women and children. It should be a place where the pure Word of God is
taught, studied and practiced. It should be a community of love, understanding, meditation
and prayer.
The Sacraments
We believe that the sacraments are outward expressions of an inward
grace and should be practiced faithfully in our churches. Our sacraments to be observed
are:
The Eucharist, Baptism, Holy Orders, and Marriage.
The Clergy
No person is to take the office of a deacon, minister or bishop on his
own accord. The Clergy shall make all such appointments as God and the scriptures lead
them. The cardinals and archbishops will have final approval of all candidates for Holy
Orders. We hold celibacy to be a personal matter of choice and is not required of
our clergy.
